All the documents or pictures in this section will be keyworded (if known) for date, parish or location and subject matter at least, with perhaps additional information. Any keyworded details can be found by the search mechanism but there may be too many personal names to put in the keyword space available.

This section is therefore somewhat of a lucky dip, but the idea is to make sources available without taking away the fun of archive research. Some of the original material may be in the Herefordshire archives, but much will come from other archives or private collections.

The material is arranged by date.

1696 Petition of the Freeholders and Inhabitants of Eccleswall, Weston, Linton, Walford and other Parishes against a Bill for making the Wye and Lugg navigable

1831 Census Return for Wigmore. Family historians are familiar with images of censuses from 1841 onwards. There are a few from earlier but most do not have personal names and details. It's quite interesting to see an actual return for 1831, the instructions of categories and the return itself. The return will be deposited in the Herefordshire Archives.
