CHARITABLE INCORPORATED ORGANISATION
The Woolhope Naturalists’ Field Club (of Herefordshire) has recently become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (registration number 1212600), a new legal structure for the Club, regulated by the Charity Commission. The previous unincorporated charity (registration number 521000) will be closed once the legal process and transfer of assets is complete.
In practice, this makes no difference to the day-to-day running of the organisation and members can rest assured that they will continue to enjoy the benefits of membership, including talks, field meetings, publications and the activities of the various sections.
The first Annual General Meeting of the CIO was held on 12th September 2026. An account appears in the Autumn 2026 Newsletter
ORGANISATION & OFFICERS
The day-to-day operation of the Club is managed by a Board of Trustees ("The Committee"), chaired by the President, who normally serves for one year at a time. The committee meets quarterly.
There are three subcommittees that answer to the executive committee:
- the Finance, Risk and Regulatory Committee
- the Publications Committee is responsible for the Transactions and other publications
- Geoffrey Walter Smith (GW Smith) Fund Committee considers applications for funding for local projects or publications.
Other committees / working groups are formed by the executive committee from time to time, to handle specific aspects of the Club’s activities.
