As well as the regular publications such as the Transactions, the Club has published a number of one-off books and pamphlets and they are listed here. Some of the older issues will be scanned and made available online and others will be available as they initially appeared as additions to a particular issue of the Transactions. Use the Search mechanism with the subject and authors' names to find these. You may also come across ‘off-prints’ of articles from the Transactions. Copies of these were supplied to authors in the past. A number of the books below can be accessed via links to online copies.
There are two early books on the list by Drs Hogg and Bull on fruit. The Herefordshire Pomona (1875-85) was beautifully illustrated by Misses Bull and Ellis. Original copies are rarely available and very expensive but Volume 1 is available via the link below. It is also available on CD (Marcher Apple Network) and The Folio Society has published a facsimile edition. The Apple and Pear as Vintage Fruits (1886 – Jakeman & Carver) vy Dr Hogg was illustrated by Dr Bull and is available as an online link below. Both links are available courtesy of the Biodiversity Heritage Library.
The Club has also assisted with publication costs through the Club’s Geoffrey Walter Smith fund. A list can be found here.
