Programme Notes

1. Field Visit start times now vary – please check programme carefully.

2. People intending to go on a visit MUST advise the leader or the secretary that they are going, and check with the leader if the weather forecast is poor..

3. Guests are welcome, but must take day membership of the Club: £1.00

4. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for field meetings, and bring food and drink. It is not always possible to arrive at a hostelry at lunch time

5. Members requiring transport should contact the Leader or Chairman who will endeavour to arrange, but no guarantee can be given

6. Members and guests are reminded that field meetings are undertaken at their own risk.

Geological Section Programme 2008

DATE DETAILS MEETING:
Saturday 19 April    Field excursion to Hanter Hill ; Leaders Sue Hay and Geoff Steel. 10.30 a.m., lay by at Burlingjobb on the B4594 (SO 251 583). No facilities, bring packed lunch/drink
Sunday 25 May Field Excursion to the Quaternary of the Teme and Frome rivers.  Leader Andy Richards. 10.00 a.m. at the Talbot at Knightwick (SO 734 560).  Bring a packed lunch.  This is a joint trip with the Mid-Wales Geology Club.
Saturday 21 June Field Excursion to the Huntley quarry.  Leader Dave Owen. 10.00 a.m. Huntley Garden Centre (SO 714 197). Please bring hard hats.
Saturday 19 July Field Excursion to the Pyrddin Valley, Vale of Neath.  Leader Steve Howe. 10.30 a.m., car park opposite the Tourist Information Office, Ponteneddfechan (SO900 077).  Bring packed lunch/drink
Sunday 31 August Joint Field Excursion with the Mid-Wales Geology Society. Leader John Davies Details to follow
Friday 12 September Viewing of film taken during last September's re-enactment of early Woolhope field excursions.  6.00 p.m. Woolhope Room, Hereford Library, Broad Street.

N.B. It may seem like a marathon to complete surveys for up to four churches each time but some are revisits to check on the flora as previous visits were not in the best season.
