Whereas medieval pottery classification in Hereford has been standardised since 1985. The case at Leominster is quite otherwise. The pottery from the Castle Moat site was classified according the the Worcestershire system, as was that at the Buttercross site, while the Poultry Packers and Focus, Mill Street sites employ yet other systems. In any case, the medieval pottery from Leominster appears to be of mainly local manufacture, with some imports from the Malvern industries and from Hereford. Below is a correlation table based on that devised by Stephanie Ratkai. The definitions highlighted in pink are those used at the Focus site and at Hereford and are those used in these pages.
